As there are two sides to every story, there are two sides to every world in which we live. These worlds are defined by the choices we make, and the smallest decisions can have the biggest impact on everyone around us. But there is one way in which we can see the other side: the mirror of Erised. Everyone knows that we all want what we don't have - not necessarily what we can't have. For instance, one who has curly hair wishes for straight, or one who has many siblings wishes to have been an only child. After all, if you have curly hair, you just have to straighten it, and if you have too many siblings, demented though it may be, there are ways of ridding yourself of them. But what would the world be like if all of these wishes had been fulfilled? Would it be better off, or worse off than it started? The only way to find out is to take a glimpse into the mirror to see the reflections of the past.
