you caught me under false pretences,---------------------------------------------------- turning in bed xander didn't be able to ever had a good nights sleep anymore without having some horrible nightmare about the ocean. his life was blank, and he didn't remember and to top that all he had the image of a woman in his head that he had no clue who she was. he had tried drink her away but she managed to come back with anything he tried. he had started drinking when the nightmares began to happen the week following him being released out of the hospital. he laid in his bed only in a pair of navy blue sweat pants staring at the bare ceiling of his room trying to think of an reason to all of this madness in his life. his mind wandered to many things that could explain the reason he hadn't remembered anything. the mains one were drugs, fbi, and the government. all of them seemed impossible but the only thing he true knew if it had to do with a boat. he couldn't explain how he remembered that but nothing else but he did. he rolled on top his stomach facing the headboard of the bed, and closed his eyes. it was still early and he wanted to get a few more hours of sleep before he wondered this place that had no fimilarity to him.
xander was sitting in the middle of the ocean on the boat that was named finn in a fancy lettering on the side of it. it was a big and sturdy boat but none the less, xander and the boat rocked with the motion of the ocean sitting there having a random conversation. the boat was heading forward deeper into the water as the men on the boat were deep into conversation laughing at the whole topic, and having a good time. time pasted and the sky had turned dark before the sun even went down, and they just moved inside not expecting it to be a storm that caused the waves to begin to send waves bigger than the boat at them, and in gulfing them. xander was steering the boat, but the as he glanced he noticed the other boy wasn't on the boat and went looking for him. only to find him in the water, kicking for help. xander reached for him but as he did the boat completely flipped and a rope was wrapped around his leg.
bending down he struggled for his last breath to untangle the rope, and was loosing air as he tried, and finally managed to. he had given up hope and has he was sinking farther into the depths of the ocean a picture of a woman flashed in his mind, and gave him a reason to push to the top of the water. he found a piece of wood, and laid his torso on it before passing out. then everything was black, and he woke up in a room with a man in a white coat asking him questions and flashing a bright light into his eyes. he glanced over to see the newspaper across the tray and jerked back to see the boy from the boat on the front page deformed.
xander opened his eyes rapidly knowing that it was always the same dream. it was the boy that got him, he tried to explain the women to people but it was hard to explain her just based off her face. he wasn't an artist so drawing her was out of the question because he was only a master in stick figures. he let his grip go from the pillow under him and pushed his body off the bed, and walked over to his closest pulling out an outfit he could wear for the day around town. he hoped that maybe just maybe if he saw her everything would come back to him. he wanted it to more than anything wanting to know what everything meant. he wanted to remember it, what the band on his finger meant. who this woman was on his phone, and in his mind that would randomly pop up out of the blue and cause his heart to skip a beat.
grabbing some clothes he moved out of the apartment he was staying in and into the streets. he had read that sometimes a smell, or a place could trigger a memory. sliding his hands into his pockets he slowly walked down the street playing with the inside of his pocket, and biting his upper lip. passing a few store windows nothing came back, so he figured that he might just need a drink. but it was to early for him to get a beer or even a glass of wine. he decided on a coffee would help somewhat though he knew he looked ragged, and a hobo from what a little girl had told him not even the other day. before he went to bed the night before..... or rather passed out. he looked at himself in the mirror rubbing his hair across his gruffy beard, and his mess of a hair before pulling out a razor and shaving off the beard. he would have cut his hair but he figured that maybe going to a proffesional would be better for him in the long run. walking into the shop he walked to the counter and order a coffee before sliding off into a both, and just sitting there. he found a random magazine but soon became bored with all the hollywood drama that had been the talk of the town lately.

let's dance in style, let's dance for a while heaven can wait we're only watching the skies hoping for the best but expecting the worst are you gonna drop the bomb or not - - - - - - - - - - - The gym. That was where Matthew Roberts was at the moment. Early morning basketball practice was today so that was what his focus was on. All morning he had been running drills with his new team mates. Matt never enjoyed morning practices considering he wasn't a morning person. Getting up early, he didn't like it. In his books any time before ten o'clock was too early. That was one reason why he had disliked school so much because every day he had been forced to wake up at six thirty for years; talk about a large annoyance. But currently he was running as fast as he could, up and down the court as the couched yelled out different commands. "Alright boys time for the beep test!" He shouted out as he took notes on his clipboard. Today the coach was trying to find out what all of the players endurance was like which meant a lot of running. Hearing that announcement Matthew quickly rushed over to line up with the other guys. Some people didn't like the beep test but he didn't mind it that much. It was a simple concept, the players have to run from one side of the gym and then back. They continue going back and forth to the pace of a beep. However the longer you run the faster the beeps come which makes it get harder as the time passes.
Standing in a line with his team mates Matthew regained his breath while waiting for the drill to start. A loud, gloomy beep went off; instantly the boys ran. Up and down the court they ran, the area quiet except for the sounds of them all beginning to breathe heavily. Time passed and guys gave up, some were got to tired, some ran out of breath but Matthew was still running along with a couple others. Sweat was covering his body, especially his forehead but it didn't stop him. He kept running, pushing himself to continue. The beeps came faster and faster - just when Matt thought that he had to stop the couch called out one final time "That's enough for today, hit the showers." The young man was so happy to hear that, so were the others he assumed. He felt tired and sweaty, having a shower sounded pretty good right now. Making his way to the locker room with the others his breathing slowed down to a normal speed. Thankfully he didn't feel like he was going to collapse anymore. That was good. Whenever he entered the locker room a sound of different conversations and guys joking around met him. The gym had been so silent, just the sound of the coach ordering them around but now this one room seemed full of noise. Matt joined a couple random conversations but mostly just did his own thing. He had a shower and then changed into his jeans along with a plain white shirt.
Saying good bye to the team Matt pulled on his leather jacket and slung his bag over his shoulder. You wouldn't want to look in that thing, it wasn't pretty. There was dirty gym clothes, a pair of sneakers and a water bottle. Probably stuff that he didn't even know about could be in there. Leaving the gym he felt a nice breeze as he walked the university grounds. He kept a grip on his bag as he walked. He wasn't sure what he'd end up doing now. Matt didn't have anymore classes today and he already finished the short story that he was suppose to write for his literature class; basically he could do what ever he wanted because he had know plans, no homework, nothing. It was rather nice, he could just go somewheres and chill; not have to worry about anything or get stressed out. Relaxation. That's what he needed and that was what he would get. But now that he had this free time where should he go first? He was unsure but for a start finding his car seemed like a good move. Matthew passed by many students as he walked the grounds on his way to the parking lot. Familiar faces came into view, some that he knew from his own classes some that he just met random. He gave a few people a nod of acknowledgment but didn't stop. His pace stayed the same because right now he wasn't in the mood to talk. It was his alone time today, some Matthew time.
Finally reaching the parking lot he spotted his car. Matt loved his car, like he actually did. His parents bought it for him last year. It was a gift for winning the championships and partly a graduation gift too. It was graphite metallic with fancy leather interior. The sleek vehicle looked like something out of a racing video game or a movie. It even came with a soft top although that wasn't much useful anymore now that he lived in Wells. Opening up the driver's side door he bent over and threw his bag in the passengers side. He then got inside of it, closing the door behind him. After putting on his seat belt he fired up the engines, revving it a few times before finally pulling out of the parking lot and onto the road. Music blared from his speakers, the current song playing was Gives You Hell by the All-American Rejects. The young man tapped his thumbs against the steering wheel, following along with the beat as he drove. Turning the car he continued to drive now with an idea on where to go. It was simple, get a coffee. He should've thought of that earlier. A short drive and he had reached the coffee shop. He parked his car once again and stepped out. A breeze ruffled his hair making it messier but he didn't care.
Coffee was on his mind right now. Matthew walked inside and breathed deeply, taking in the smell of coffee that was being made. It was a good smell and made him want it even more. Matt waited in line for a minute and then ordered a large coffee which he soon paid for once it was ready. Holding onto his coffee he scanned the room looking for an place to sit. Spotting one he walked over to it but suddenly he stopped as he reached it, "Oh sorry, I didn't see you there" He said awkwardly to a young man who was sitting at the booth which he thought had been empty. That was an embarrassing moment. About to leave he caught a good look at him, "Wait.. do I kno-" He cut himself off for a second but then continued "Xander?" Matt questioned in disbelief. Okay so this could be really weird, this guy, he looked like his older brother but how could that be possible? He had been in a boat accident; had he survived?

you caught me under false pretences,---------------------------------------------------- basketball was something xander watched on the television knowing that he didn't understand or even want to begin to think what people had to do for it. he saw the sweat dripping off the faces of the men on the television who were suppose to be these fellows in shape. he didn't mind the work but didn't think that was his job that he was set out to do in the world. he was more of a government or politic man it seemed. he understood what people wanted most of the time and seemed to be able to coop with them. it also helped that he could bluff easy whenever he felt the needed but he didn't like lying to someone. he felt guilty the next day for doing it. he wasn't sure who he was let along what he was set out in the world to do anymore. it fustrated him with that fact even more now.
football was something he seemed to enjoy, though he at times wished he knew people that would play with him. he wasn't sure what he wanted to do with his life anymore, the main goal in his mind was find out who he really was. he was xander or at least he thought. he wasn't sure but just went by the name assuming and find a piece of paper with the name on it. he wasn't sure and really didn't care anymore but knew something in his mind was wanting him to find this girl. he managed to get his phone repaired from the water damage and was able to see all the pictures that were on the hard drive, and most of them were of this girl who he had seen in his dreams more and more often. he didn't know what it all meant but had a feelings that things would just keep getting slowly play out for the best hopefully. he wasn't sure how it would play out but he hoped it did because well, he didn't like feeling a piece of himself missing.
xander had became offically scared and terrified of the water because of all the things that his dream showed him. he remembered the boy from the news paper all bloated and deformed, but he began to question if it was actually him was suppose to be out there. the docter that had check him out seemed to believe he was in okay condition but he had memory loss, and figured that his memory may come back over time or not. but everything else seemed to check out so he was given the okay to go home. but xander wondered where home was for him, but lucky the person who found him decided to take him under her wing and help him for a while. she was pretty and well he thought she was really nice for doing that for him. but he didn't understand the catch to it all. everyone wanted a price for something no one was that nice, but so far he hasn't been giving a price on his living arrangements.
drinking his coffe he managed to remember his lap top this time and slowly opened it and began to slowly click on the internet button before going to google. he searched for the same thing he always did trying to make sense of the accident but so far hadn't found much of anything from any article in the paper. looking up to see the boy and what he said he nodded lightly, "no problem." brushing his shaggy hair out of his eyes xander's brain began to turn as he looked at the boy. something about him stood out and finally the boy said his name. he turned his head to the side, "do i know you?" he wasn't sure how this boy knew his name or even if he actually knew him because of the accident and the whole memory loss thing. he hoped he wasn't someone important.

let's dance in style, let's dance for a while heaven can wait we're only watching the skies hoping for the best but expecting the worst are you gonna drop the bomb or not - - - - - - - - - - - Basketball practice had tired the boy out. He was glad that he had no other plans for the day. That gave him time to do whatever he wanted. He'd probably just end up going home and watching some tv while laying on the couch. Perhaps he'd give Lexy a call, come to think of it that seemed like a good idea. If he called her then he could see if she had done any spy work for the Juliet situation yet. A little while ago Alexis had spent the night at Matt's house and had given him some advice on it all. She also offered to be his 'secret spy'. Now right off Matt knew she wouldn't do a good job at keeping things secret, she wasn't that good at being subtle. With his luck she'd probably just burst out to Jules saying that he still loved her. Although in a way that might not be a bad thing, it would be a direct approach; it'd get the message out. He would prefer for her to keep that fact quiet, he'd rather tell Juliet himself. Lexy would bring in information, that was one thing that he knew for sure. She wouldn't just take in a task and not work at it. Plus he knew that she had been rooting for the couple all along. She wanted them back together just as much as he did.
Matthew really hoped that Alexis would succeed in her job. He knew what his feelings were when it came to Juliet. It was obvious to everyone around that he still loved her, well everyone seemed to figured it out except her. That was a problem. The bigger problem was that Matt didn't know if she had moved on or not. When they ran into each other that day on the beach he had never asked. Truthfully he had been too in shock to process thoughts like that. It was surprising that he had been able to get a normal conversation out. Seeing her that day brought so many feelings back. Made him confused, frustrated, insanely happy and so much more all at the same time. With out her things just weren't the same. Breaking thing off had been possibly the biggest mistake that the twenty year old had ever made. That was why he planned on fixing his mistake. If he could have he'd build a time machine and go back in time to before graduation to redo that day by not breaking up with her. Alas building a time machine and going through with a plan like that was impossible. That was why he'd have to fess up, get it over with and do something he normally wouldn't do. Talk about his feelings. Not something that he enjoyed but desperate times called for desperate measures. He wanted her back and that seemed like the only option right now.
Juliet seemed to be a constant topic on his mind lately yet suddenly something rather someone was taking her place. It was this young man in front of him. Matthew didn't plan on speaking with anyone while getting his coffee, he just wanted peace and quiet. However stumbling across this guy might have been a very fortunate thing. A month ago or maybe a bit longer there had been an incident. Something horrible that had happened which affected his family. Matt wasn't the only boy in the Roberts family. He had an older brother, Harrison (although everyone called him Xander). The two were pretty close since there wasn't that much of an age difference. Xander had gotten married to the beautiful Affinity Aldred and moved out to Wells to be with her. After the wedding Xander had went out on a boat ride with Affinity's younger brother or at least that's who Matt had been told he was with. Everything supposedly was going well until the accident happened. It ended in a boat crash, the young boy had died but the only body found belonged to Affinity's brother. No sign of Xander. He was lost at sea, in theory.
Gripping onto the coffee cup Matthew kept his gaze on who he was positive was in fact his older brother. It had to be; he had his mother's eyes. Anyone who knew the Roberts family knew that Xander did have the same colored eyes as his mother. She would forever tell people that fact since otherwise the two boys looked like younger versions of their father. It was mainly him who they had acquired their genes from. Seeing the confusion on Xander's face and the question that he had asked made Matt's face fall slightly. Had he been wrong? Was this young man not who he thought he was? How could he forget his own brother? Wait a minute. Forget, maybe that was the answer. The boat accident, what if it caused him to lose his memory. That was something that could happen wasn't it? It made things seem rather logical. Matt now had a mission for the day. This was his brother, he knew, he just knew it but right now the other boy couldn't remember. Today he would spend some time and try his best to remind him, tell him the truth. "Hope you don't mind, I think I'm going to join you for a while." Matt stated and took a seat on the opposite side of Xander in the booth. "You were in an accident weren't you.. involving a boat," He mused before taking a sip of his coffee. This would be weird, he knew all of these things about his brother that Xander couldn't remember. "By the way I'm Matthew, Matthew Roberts."
