i was on teh other site! Copper's lope was rather choppy, more choppy than rocking horse. 'I've gotta fix that,' Kasey thought to himself as they ate ground. The firey gelding's stride was short but his pace was a ground eater. And it was really beginning to be a pain in Kasey's ass. Literally.
Dare. He had a feeling it was a nickname, or one heck of a weird one. Ah well, he had a couple under his belt. None of them were well known outside of the rodeo circuit, Coyote the one exception.
"kasey," he intorduced himself without looking at the girl again. He needed to keep his eyes on the "windshield." If he looked anywhere else, well, where you look is where you land. And crashing into a pretty girl from the back of a rambunctious gelding, not the best first impression.
Kasey wasn't the imperssionable type, but some were. He didn't tend to worry about the first time he met people, it was if he ever saw them again he was more concerned with. He especially didn't believe in love at first sight. Just something that didn't make sense to him. He needed to spend time with someone before he knew who they were and wether or not they were worth his time. He also knew that he would see more of Dare, wether he wanted to ro not. In that case, he should make it the first.
"Yeah, let's go!" He loved racing, and now he had a fast horse. Nothing like racing a percheron appaloosa cross, they tended to be slow. "Let's rock it!" he called to Copper, who shot off at the gallop once more.
And that was it. He was back in the world of cowboys and indians. His bow was in one hand, soft leather reins in the other. The white men and their guns could only get so far. He could shoot a buffalo from a mountain top with his tightly strung bow. A quiver full of arrows was on his back. The hoofbeats of his trusty mount were all he needed. They were a song. For Copper was no longer Copper, the firey and balking arabian thuroghbred semi-green raining prospect. No. He was Rushing Brook, the frightening and scary Indian Pony. He could outrun any of the Rough Strand, or any white man. ((thsi is a bit short but what the hell.))
