Oh come on honey you got nothin' to lose
You got the thirst 'n I got the booze
Give you an inch
Take you a mile
I wanna make you fry
It was the middle of a Saturday afternoon and up until now Jason’s work day had been pretty straight forward. A few oil changes and some tire changes, and those never took very long but suddenly he felt the wind turning. Sitting down in the garage reading a magazine he saw a tow truck pull up with a Honda accord being towed behind it. “I’ll take care of this…” he told his boss walking outside, throwing a towel for his hands over his shoulder. He’s been looking for something to fix all day and a tow truck was always a good sign because it meant the car just wouldn’t work anymore. “What’s the problem?” he asked the tow driver and the person the car it belonged too. It was obvious neither of them knew, all he got was the engine wasn’t working and it smelled like smoke.
After the tow driver got the car undone he pushed it in with some help, and once everything was properly secured, such that it wouldn’t move anymore, and then lifted the hood of the car. “Definitely smells like smoke, got a feeling it is something to do with the pistons…” he told his boss who was standing right next to him while fanning the smoke smell from his nose. His boss seemed to feel the same way he did and simply said check, because if it was the pistons there was no need to pull out the engine. Grabbing some near by tools he removed some of the unnecessary cables, took out the battery, and a bunch of other stuff like the AC compressor and the exhaust manifolds. Once those things were all off he removed the heads, and the smell of smoke got stronger. Since he didn’t know which of the four it was he needed to inspect them all and after the first two were fine he got to the third and saw that it was broken. Then when he checked the fourth, it was broken as well. “It’s a miracle this thing even made it out of the drive way…” he told his boss who was now standing next to him. “Three to five days…” was his estimate for how long it would take to fix. One ring was 2-3 days, but two would require a little extra.
He had about another hour to get to work on this before meeting Stella so he was going to get started on this, and with his bosses help he removed the engine from the car and had it hanging next to a chair he would be sitting in. It was time to work and began to carefully remove the pistons that were broken, and once they were off he placed them on a nearby table. “They must not know how to put oil into the car, these things look worn out…” he told his boss who was checking out another car in the garage. “Either that or they just race this thing to the ground…” he said afterwards carefully removing the first ring from one of the broken pistons.

Note: Maybe have her show up early or unexpectedly at the shop… I sort of left it open to whether he was meeting her at the shop or somewhere else…
