you'll never see what you've done to me
take back your memories, they're no good to me
----- gemma Meester had come a long way in the past four years. Now a college Senior she was no longer the immature, social status obsessed, cheerleading highschool student she once was. It was a brilliant change in her eyes though she’d never really fit the stereotype she’d built for herself in highschool anyway. KARI BEAR !? of caution 2.0
Things were supposed to get harder as you got older, or so she’d heard and yet she’d see no direct evidence of that yet. Her life wasn’t all that dramatic, apart from her family but she’d become accustomed to that after all of these years. Yes, she could still get moody and worried about her future but for the moment, she was completely content with everything.
----- school was going well. Gemma had never been stupid, not the brightest girl out there but she could use her head and pass her classes with enough ease. She thanked her father for that intellect and was always happy she didn’t store it at the back of her mind rather than using it. Being a dumb blonde was way to daunting for her anyway. Her social life was fine, though she hardly partied anymore but she still kept in close contact with the friends she deemed worthy. And Ofcourse, she had her half siblings to constantly worry about. Things finally seemed kind of complete.
----- the day had been an uneventful one and Gemma was happy about that. A day without tears or blood shed or god only knew what else was an achievement in this town and she glad to be apart of that. The blonde had woken up, got ready and managed to arrive at her lecture just on time. Ofcourse school was hardly stimulating as the teachers voice seemed to drone on in the background, so much so that at least half of the lecture theatre was asleep. It took all of Gemma’s strength to hold in a laugh. She somehow managed it though and the class passed without a hiccup. To make the day seem even more worthwhile she’d been handed back her last paper with a nice big red A on the top of it that bought a smile to her lips. Even she knew she’d deserved that one. The amount of sleepless nights she’s stayed up writing the thing and it had finally paid off. As her last year of college was drawing to a close, Gemma found herself taking more and more time out of her own life to do well. The last three years had merely been a matter of passing but now she wanted to do her best. Finally maturity had set in.
----- classes had finished about an hour ago and somewhere in that hour she’d found herself distracted enough to not have got directly to her destination. The library. Yep, a few years ago and she wouldn’t have been caught dead in the place. That was what the internet was for and she’d admit the library still kind of creeped her out but it was good to get work done. Finally reaching the library, she decided she wouldn’t go in right away. She’d use the opportunity to take in as much fresh air as she could. It always smelt damp and slightly dusty in there and she always left with a headache and some major case of hay fever. The peace seemed worth it however and she knew everything would hopefully pay off in the long run.
----- since she was a Freshman in Highschool, all Gemma had ever wanted to do was be a journalist. The girl could write and she had a way of getting information out of people. She’d never even thought of leaving Wells Beach however. She’d been there her entire life and the idea of leaving was pretty scary. But to make it big, it may have been what she had to do. The sad thing was, she’d never tried to think about leaving. Somewhere in her subconscious she knew she’d have to but until the moment arose she pretended she could spend her entire life in Wells Beach, Maine.
----- checking through her bag once more, she made sure she had the right equipment and pushed through the heavy double doors to the library, instantly feeling the hairs on her arms stand up. Stupid, creepy library. She walked as quickly as she could to an empty space and flung her bag down on the desk. Sliding her slim body into the chair in front of it, she was careful not to make too much noise or draw too much attention to herself. That would be far too simple a thing to ask for however and just as she went to grab a pen from her beg, the entire thing spilled everywhere. All over her desk, all over the library floor. God, Gemma didn’t even know she’d bought that much stuff with her. Her cheeks flushed red as she could feel all eyes on her, ”Oh for fu..” she stopped herself realising that only made more people stare at her. For a smart girl she could be a complete idiot sometimes. Pushing back her chair lightly, she avoided all eyes on her and began to gather up her things and stuff them back in her bag.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -status: finito
